Here at HCA HQ, we have taken some time to gather together the traits and qualities that many of our successful Health Coach graduates demonstrate so well. The chances are, if you are seriously considering health coaching as a new profession, you already share many of these characteristics.

- They care deeply about helping people to enjoy healthy lives. Successful Health Coaches are passionate about feeling their best and helping others to do the same. Their passion is contagious and can help inspire others to live their best lives.
- They practice what they preach. Yes all student Health Coaches become their own Health Coach first! You do not need to be the finished product, but you do need to apply the principles to your own health and consider nutrition, lifestyle, movement, mindset in your own daily practice.
- They actively listen. They give their client their undivided attention. The act of listening, real deep listening, requires practice and attention and will be experienced by the client as positive and affirming.
- They respect boundaries. Understanding that this is a deeply personal process, a successful Health Coach remains professional throughout the entire process.
- They are professional. A successful health coach understands that the client is paying them for their expertise and that they, as a health professional, are providing a service. They respect their clients' time with 100% focus and they have done the prep work to guide the session.
- Successful Health Coaches are visionaries. They help their client create their wellness vision and make it feel possible and inspiring. Health Coaches know that it takes time to see the mindset shift into action and they support their clients to overcome barriers and bumps in the road.
- They have a vision for the difference they want to make in the World. The goal of a successful Health Coach is to help others live their best lives and to create a successful business whilst doing this.
- They are lifelong learners. Most successful Health Coaches are involved in continued education and professional communities that support ongoing learning. Whether it’s undertaking formal training or simply staying on-the-pulse of emerging health research, there’s so much information in this rapidly evolving sector.
