For much of her life, Natasha struggled with her weight. Her job as a professional driver involved long hours on the road, limited access to healthy food, and little opportunity for movement. Days were often fuelled by energy drinks and sugary snacks - and while she frequently promised herself, “I’ll start tomorrow,” that day rarely came.
Everything changed when Natasha was diagnosed as being in the pre-diabetic range. It was the wake-up call she needed — a clear sign that her health was at risk if she didn’t make a change.
Determined to turn things around, she began learning about the impact of lifestyle choices on long-term health. Along the way, she discovered health coaching - a field that combined her growing interest in wellbeing with the opportunity to support others.

From Driving Instructor to Health Coach
Natasha’s background as a driver gave her first-hand insight into the challenges of maintaining health on the road - irregular routines, poor nutrition, sedentary habits, and high stress. Her own experience of overcoming these obstacles became the foundation of her coaching approach, allowing her to connect deeply with clients facing similar struggles.
Training to Become a Certified Health and Wellbeing Coach
In 2022, Natasha made the decision to train professionally, enrolling in the Level 5 Diploma in Health & Wellness Coaching with HCA where she gained a solid foundation in the science of wellbeing, covering everything from behaviour change and nutrition to coaching skills and mindset work.
Not only did this help her support others more effectively, but it also gave her the tools to take charge of her own health and weight-loss goals.
Reaching Personal Health Goals
At the time, Natasha was already following a low-carb way of eating. But through her studies, she developed a clearer understanding of how to build balanced meals, make better food choices, and stick to healthy habits long term.
As her confidence and knowledge grew, so did her results, she went on to lose an incredible four stone (25 kgs). But even more importantly, she felt stronger, healthier, and more in control of her wellbeing than ever before.
These personal breakthroughs gave her deep insight into how powerful behaviour change can be - insight she now brings into every coaching session as a Health and Wellbeing Coach.
Launching Honk for Health: Coaching Drivers to Thrive
After graduating in 2023, Natasha launched Honk for Health, a health coaching practice dedicated to supporting professional drivers - an often-overlooked group when it comes to wellbeing. Drawing from her own experience behind the wheel, she designed her coaching specifically for those navigating the challenges of life on the road.
At Honk for Health, Natasha works with coach drivers, taxi drivers, HGV operators, and driving instructors - people who face unique health struggles due to their work patterns. Through one-to-one coaching, she helps clients build sustainable routines around nutrition, sleep, movement, stress management, and mental wellbeing.
Her relatable, real-world approach helps clients make progress where other methods may have failed. And the ripple effects are real - her husband, inspired by her transformation, has adopted new habits and seen incredible results himself.
“The challenges I faced as a driver - weight gain, poor sleep, and the threat of pre-diabetes became the very foundation of the solution I now offer to others."
Looking Ahead as a Certified Health Coach
Natasha’s passion for health goes beyond her coaching sessions. With a mind full of ideas, she’s already exploring new ways to make an impact, from potential partnerships on men’s mental health to on-the-ground research with HGV and coach drivers to better understand their needs.
Her story is proof that life’s challenges can lead us to meaningful, fulfilling work. Becoming a Health and Wellbeing Coach wasn’t just a career choice for Natasha - it was a calling rooted in lived experience, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others thrive.
