Josh Wood - TEDx Speaker, Educator & Online Fitness Coach

Our guest, Josh Wood, is a TEDx speaker, educator, and fitness expert who brings a refreshingly grounded perspective to health and physical fitness, training to be strong for life. With more than 15 years of experience spanning competitive powerlifting, combat sports, wilderness guiding, and education, Josh’s work bridges high-performance training with the realities of everyday living.


Josh entered the fitness industry in 2009 coaching Mixed Martial Arts, and since then has expanded his expertise to include qualifications in personal training, massage therapy, health science, complementary medicine, fitness coaching, and education. He spent six years teaching massage therapy in Melbourne and several years educating future trainers through Certificate III and IV Fitness qualifications in Tasmania. 


Originally from the United States, Josh now lives in Tasmania with his wife and two sons. Becoming a parent reshaped how he approaches training, recovery, and long-term health, and today he focuses on helping everyday adults build strength that fits into real life.


Josh’s advice is always: “Simplify. Just do one thing. Because one step is where every journey starts.”
